特雷莎修女/Mother Teresa
特雷莎修女（1910—1997），生於歐洲的馬其頓，18歲進加爾各答修道院。1948年她走出修道院高牆，開始為世界上最貧窮的人服務；1979年獲諾貝爾和平獎，1997年9月5日辭世。“特雷莎媽媽”是一個美麗的名字，被世人用不同的語言表達同一個意思即“愛”。她刻苦善良，以身作則，畢生堅持不懈服務全人類，其功績令世人深受感動和啟發。
It is not enough for us to say,"I love God." But I also have to lov e my neighbor.St.John says that you are a liar if you say you love God and you don't love your neighbor.How can you love God whom you do not see,if you do not love your neighbor whom you see,whom you touch,with whom you live?And so it is very important for us to realize that love,to be true,has to hurt.I must be willing to give whatever it takes not to harm other people and,in fact,to do good to them.This requires tha t I am willing to give until it hurts.Otherwise,there is no true love in me and I bring injustice,not peace,to those around me.
It hurts Jesus to love us.We have been created in his image for gre ater things,to love and to be loved.We must "put on Christ," as Scrip ture tells us.And so we have been created to love as he loves us.Jesus makes himself the hungry one,the naked one,the homeless one,the unwan ted one,and he says,"You did it to me." On the last day he will say to those on his right,"whatever you did to the least of these,you did to me," and he will also say to those on his left,"whatever you neglected to do for the least of these,you neglected to do it for me."
When he was dying on the Cross,Jesus said,"I thirst." Jesus is th irsting for our love,and this is the thirst for everyone,poor and rich alike.We all thirst for the love of others,that they go out of their w ay to avoid harming us and to do good to us.This is the meaning of true love,to give until it hurts.
僅僅說“我愛上帝”是不夠的，我們還必須愛我們的鄰居。聖約翰說過，如果你不愛鄰居卻還說你愛上帝，那你就在撒謊。連耳觸目及、伸手可摸的鄰居都不愛，你又怎能熱愛看不著、聽不見的上帝呢？所以，認識到這點十分重要——說句實話，有愛就有傷害。我們應該甘願傾我所能，以求不傷害他人，事實上這樣就是在對他人行善。這也就要求我們心甘情願地付出，遭受痛苦也在所不惜。否則，我們心中就不會有真愛，我們所帶給周圍人們的就不是安寧，而是不公正。
因愛著我們，耶穌也是痛苦的。上帝按照自己的形象創造我們，是讓我們去成就更偉大的事業，是讓我們做到“我愛人人，人人愛我”。正如原文中訓導的那樣，我們必須“所作所為向基督看齊”。上帝因此創造我們，教我們像他愛我們一樣去愛別人。耶穌讓自己忍饑挨餓，讓自己赤身**，讓自己無家可歸，讓自己遭人躲閃。他說：“你是這樣對待我的。”到了最後的審判日，他將對在他右邊的人說：“你對這些人中最卑微的人所做的事情，就是對我做的事情。”他還將對在他左邊的人說：“你忽視了為這些人中最卑微者做的什麽，就等於忽視了為我做的事。”
在十字架上生命即逝的時刻，他還說：“我渴望。”耶穌渴望的是我們的愛，是對全天下不分貴賤的蒼生的愛。我們每個人都渴望得到別人的愛，渴望別人小心翼翼而不將我們傷害，都渴望自己得到善待。不惜痛苦地去施愛吧，這就是真愛的意義。
